According to Hendry County Sheriff’s Office, people in the area are receiving scam telephone calls from a number posing as the sheriff’s office Saturday.
Callers advised HCSO they are receiving phone calls from phone number 863-674-4060, and caller ID identified that number as the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office.
The caller is a male suspect, who is identifying himself as either Sergeant Mike Taylor or Sgt. Clifton Green. They are telling individuals that they are calling from the Hendry County Sheriff‘s Office and that they have warrants for their arrest or have missed jury duty and asking for payment over the phone.
According to HCSO, it never call individuals for payment over the phone.
