The site of a Sunday morning crash leaving one man dead. (Google Maps photo) An Alva man lying face down on State Road 78 died after a vehicle ran over him Sunday morning. Kalli Kouba, 21, was driving a GMC Sierra westbound on State Road 78 as she approached Elmwood Dr. amidst foggy weather conditions. The GMC made an evasive maneuver to avoid running over Joshua Powell, 33, who was lying face down on the roadway, the Florida Highway Patrol press release states. But she was unsuccessful — her front left tire struck Powell. The GMC would make a controlled stop nearby the site of the incident. Powell was declared dead at Lee Memorial Hospital.
