A teen from Fort Myers was arrested on multiple charges after being identified by the victim he stole a purse from back on February 16, according to Fort Myers Police.

FMPD say, they received a call about a vehicle robbery taking place on Wednesday February 19, at 4655 DeLeon Street in Fort Myers.

When they arrived on scene the victim reported seeing a man in her SUV and stated that he looked like the same suspect that stole her purse a few days before, and in the same area.

Sergeant Kelsey Evenson knew of a young man that was on home detention across the street from the victim’s apartment. Sergeant Evenson checked out the apartment and located the suspect inside, and he was identified by the victim and a witness as the thief in both instances.

A search warrant was granted and served at the suspect’s residence.  Based upon all available evidence, he was ultimately charged with burglary to an unoccupied conveyance, motor vehicle theft, grand theft and robbery with and without a firearm. He is being held at the Lee County Juvenile Detention Center.
