Reports say there were four individuals in the car when the car submerged into the pool.

Following an investigation, it was determined that Gavin Bryany Clutts, 19, was driving a RAV4 down Wilmington Parkway, at three times above the posted speed limit, going 135 MPH.

According to the report, the vehicle was approaching an intersection, and blew through a stop sign before veering off the roadway a short time later. The vehicle traveled 350 feet and took out a mailbox as well as a post before colliding with a 29-foot boat parked at the same residence of the pool the vehicle crashed into.

The impact ramped the vehicle into the air and landed on top of the family’s home before rolling back, through a lanai and into a pool.

Two passengers suffered serious injuries and one suffered fatal injuries.

Clutts was charged with Vehicular Homicide, 3-counts No Driver’s License Causing Death /Serious Bodily Injuries, 2-counts Reckless Driving Causing Serious Bodily Injury, and Reckless Driving Causing Property Damage.

Clutts was later transferred to Lee County Jail.
