Shooting investigation underway in Fort Myers Shores

Lee County Sheriff’s Office says there is an active homicide investigation underway in Fort Myers Shores.

Ronald Martin, 51, was found with a gunshot wound near First Street and Tropic Avenue and transported to Lee Memorial Hospital where he died.

Surveillance footage from a nearby business shows a car slowing down, then stops when the driver realizes something is in the street. According to Deputies, it was a body.

No person of interest has been named yet.
