A Naples man has been arrested after a domestic dispute where he body slammed a woman and repeatedly hit a baby in the face.

The suspect, Jonas Perez, 24, faces misdemeanor Battery – Touch or Strike Another Against Their Will and felony Cruelty Toward Child-Abuse W/O Great Bodily Harm charges.

On Saturday, Perez went to one of the victim’s apartment to pick up something, despite the woman telling him no. Perez would aggressively knock on the door, threatening to break a window before the woman opened the door, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

Perez went straight to the laundry room and began throwing everything into disarray. The woman said she was frightened, as she approached him with her baby in her arms and a cell phone with 911 dialed awaiting for her to press call.

Perez grabbed the phone and baby. He threw the baby onto the couch, then body slammed the woman, per the CCSO report. The woman said the baby had been hit several times in the face during the altercation. The baby would later have a busted lip and scratches on the face.

The woman would run out of the apartment, knocking on doors and yelling for someone to call 911, per the CCSO report. Meanwhile, Perez would leave the scene.

Perez is a convicted felon for Aggravated Assualt With a Deadly Weapon in October 2016. Due to his background, his bond will be set by a judge.
