Neighbors are telling us what they see on their street is disturbing – bones dumped along the roadway.

At the bottom of a dead-end street in Golden Gate Estates are bones. They are scattered throughout the grass on DeSoto Blvd.

Yulissa Alamilla lives within walking distance of the remains. Alamilla does not like what she sees.

“Doesn’t look like it belongs here,” Alamilla said. “That’s kind of scary.”

Alamilla said it is obvious that someone dumped the bones there. Living near a forest, people drop off anything there.

“There’s always different trucks, cars speeding by the road and they take a few minutes and then speed back,” Alamilla said, “which is really suspicious.”

Dayanira Lopez, a laboratory coordinator in Forensic Studies department at Florida Gulf Coast University, said the bones look like they are from a horse. But she could not determine if someone dumped the bones on the roadway or if the animal died there.

Michael Shaw agrees with his neighbor. They would know if a horse died and decomposed there.

“It makes me feel sad, mad,” Shaw said. “There’s nothing around, if you look around here. This is all vacant. That’s vacant. It would be easy.”
