Fort Myers Police Department responded to the report of a gunshot victim at a Dollar General store in Fort Myers Saturday.

Police responded to the store along the 3000 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard around 12:22 p.m.

According to FMPD, officers met with Robert Lee Winters, 43, who they say suffered a non-life-threatening injury. Lee County Emergency Medical Services took Winters to Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Crime scene tape was up during the response. The scene has cleared, and the business remained open as of 2 p.m.

The incident is under investigation, but FMPD says there is no danger to the public.
