Someone’s camera in Cape Coral caught two dogs attacking a woman and her dog Wednesday.
Now, neighbors on a Cape Coral street are terrified for themselves after a dog attack caught on camera at Robert Wagner’s front door.
”They were snapping and growling and barking,” Robert said. “The woman had reached for the doorbell to escape these two dogs and then I heard screaming.”
Neighbors tried to help the woman. But as she was protecting her dog, she tumbles across the landscaping. But it was not shocking to Norman and Dianne Barry who live on the same street.
”They have chased my grandson,” Norman said, “coming home from the bus stop.”
”I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen one or both those dogs out,” Dianne said.
While reporting the story, we were approached by one of the dogs.
Animal Control tells WINK News the officer who investigated the case found the dogs approachable, in good health and up-to-date on rabies shots. The court will have final say if the dogs are dangerous enough to seize.
As for the woman, she walked away with minor cuts and her dog was not hurt but neighbors are uneasy.
“Being a retired firefighter, I’ve seen several dog bites before,” Robert said. “When these dogs had this woman on the ground, she was fortunate things came out the way they did.”
