Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office says they are looking for a man who approached a young girl on Monday as she was walking home from her bus stop.

CCSO deputies say they received a report Monday evening regarding a child approached by a stranger while walking home from her bus stop asking if she needed a ride home. The child says the man was in his 50s driving a white van, but had no further description.

This incident occurred in the area of San Domingo Blvd. and Calumet Blvd. in the South Gulv Cove community near Rotonda West.

The child said she immediately told the man “no” and ran home.

CCSO says this is an excellent opportunity to have a conversation with your child about strangers who may approach them in situations where they find themselves unsupervised.
