Greater Naples Fire Rescue District responded to fires at a fast food restaurant, nearby homes and a gas line in Collier County Sunday morning after lighting struck them.
According to the fire rescue district, crews responded to the Taco Bell along the 8000 block of Davis Boulevard at 6 a.m. after a lightning strike hit a light fixture outside of the restaurant. It caused a fire that burned a hole through the roof.
The fire district told us that was one of four total strikes that caused fires in the county over night. Two local homes and a gas line were also struck by lightning.
The gas line was in Lely.
The fire district told us the Taco Bell will remain closed indefinitely while it undergoes repairs.
No injuries were reported from the lightning strikes or fires.
