GreatCall Recalls Lively Mobile Plus Emergency Alert Device Due to Risk of Call Button Failing in an Emergency

GreatCall is recalling about 44,300 units of the ‘Lively Mobile Plus model GCR4’ Alert Devices. The company says the call button can fail when pushed by the consumer in an emergency and they are offering a refund.

The product was sold at Best Buy and Walmart stores nationwide and online at greatcall.com and amazon.com from April 2019 through May 2019 for between $25 and $50. There have been no reported injuries.

Description:
This recall involves Lively Mobile Plus model GCR4 emergency alert devices manufactured between January and April 2019. The recalled devices are silver and black and have “GreatCall” printed near the top of the front of the device. The model number GCR4 is printed on the back and the date code 19.01 or 19.03 is printed on the bar code label of the device. The device is worn on a magnetic lanyard around a consumer’s neck for fall detection or clips onto a consumer’s purse, belt, or pocket, and is used to communicate in an emergency or for other assistance.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using Lively Mobile Plus and contact GreatCall to receive a full refund. GreatCall is contacting all known purchasers directly.

Walker Edison Furniture Recalls Children’s Bunk Beds Due to Fall and Injury HazardsWalker

Edison is recalling about 1,200 (in addition, about 26 were sold in Canada) children’s bunk beds due to a break hazard.The bunk bed’s support boards can break, posing fall and injury hazards The company advises the product be replaced.

They were sold online at Overstock.com, Pier1.com, Target.com, WalkerEdison.com, Walmart.com,  Wayfair.com and other online retailers from July 2018 through April 2019 for about $650.

Walker Edison is aware of two incidents of the bunk bed’s support boards breaking. No injuries have been reported.

Description:
This recall involves Walker Edison’s Twin Cottage bunk beds. The wooden bunk beds were sold in blue (BWTOTCOTBU), brown (BWTOTCOTES), red (BWTOTCOTRD) and white (BWTOTCOTWH) and in a twin over twin combination. All models have a ladder down the side. Walker Edison Furniture, Made in Brazil and the model number are printed on a label on the inside of the bed rail or foot board.

Remedy:
Consumers should immediately stop using the bunk beds and contact Walker Edison Furniture to arrange for free replacement bunk beds and free installation by Walker Edison Furniture. The firm is contacting all known customers directly.
