Saturday’s Coronavirus Updates: More than 4,000 new cases reported in Florida

As of 11 a.m. Saturday, there have been 93,797 positive cases of the coronavirus in the state. The case count includes 91,670 Florida residents and 2,127 non-Florida residents. There are 3,144 deaths reported and 12,939 hospitalizations, according to the Florida Department of Health.

There have been 1,562,280 tests administered in Florida. A total of 93,797 tests have come back positive, and 1,467,475 tests have come back negative. The remainder are still pending, according to the FDOH website.

STATEWIDE NUMBERS

Total number of cases: 93,797 (up from 89,748)
Deaths: 3,144 (up from 3,104)

  • 4,049 total new cases reported Saturday
  • 40 total new deaths reported Saturday

One of the deaths reported Saturday was that of a 17-year-old male from Pasco County.

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA NUMBERS

Total cases in SWFL: 8,541 (up from 8,313)
Deaths: 314 (up from 308)

  • 228 total new cases reported Saturday
  • 6 total new deaths reported Saturday

Lee County: 3,556 (up from 3,475) – 142 deaths (3 new)
Collier County: 3,097 (up from 2,992) – 64 deaths (3 new)
Charlotte County: 581 (up from 570) – 75 deaths
DeSoto County: 439 (up from 431) – 10 deaths
Glades County: 121 (unchanged) – 1 death
Hendry County: 747 (up from 724) – 22 deaths
