Skeletal remains found in field in eastern Hendry County, not yet confirmed human

Hendry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the discovery of skeletal remains in a field in Hendry County Tuesday.

According to HCSO, deputies responded to the report of skeletal remains in a field in an eastern portion of Hendry County after a worker was digging and then discovered what appeared to be a human skull.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement is expected to join HCSO during excavation of the remains Wednesday to confirm if they are indeed human and continue to gather further evidence.
