Community celebrates the life of Naples firefighter who died of COVID-19

Southwest Florida is saying goodbye to a hero.

Naples Firefighter Tony Christensen’s funeral is Saturday morning. He died of COVID-19 on Tuesday.

From the Gendron Funeral Home in Fort Myers, Christensen will leave on Engine 1 for the last time, as the community celebrates the life of a man who gave Naples Fire Rescue 22 years of dedicated service.

Christensen will be taken from Gendron Funeral Home to Cambier Park for his service, which begins at 11 a.m.
