Cape Coral man arrested on child pornography charges - WINK News

Cape Coral police arrested 29-year-old Don Oakes on child pornography charges Monday.

According to a CCPD blog post, the major crimes unit received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a user transmitting child pornography through email.

After further investigation, detectives identified the email user as Oakes. Investigators then secured search warrants for Oakes’ accounts and electronic devices.

Oakes faces charges for five counts of felony child pornography possession as well as five counts of transmission of child pornography over the internet.

Oakes remains in custody at the Lee County Jail.
