LCSO deputy and K-9 involved in Lehigh Acres crash

A Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputy was taken to the hospital and a K-9 deputy to the vet following a crash Saturday afternoon.

The crash happened in Lehigh Acres at the intersection of East 21st Street and Joel Boulevard near the Family Dollar.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, someone ran a stop sign, resulting in the deputy crashing into the right side of the other car.

As a precaution, the K-9 deputy was taken to the veterinarian to make sure he was okay. The deputy and the driver of the other car were both taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.
