Monday’s Coronavirus Updates: 1,838 new cases, 22 new deaths reported

As of 11 a.m. Monday, there have been 648,269 positive cases of the coronavirus recorded in the state. The case count includes 640,978 Florida residents and 7,291 non-Florida residents. There are 11,871 Florida resident deaths reported, 152 non-resident deaths, and 40,083 hospitalizations at some point during illness, according to the Florida Department of Health.

*Numbers are released by the DOH daily at approximately 11 a.m. but are occasionally delayed.

STATEWIDE NUMBERS

Total number of recorded cases: 648,269 (up from 646,431)
Florida resident deaths: 11,871 (up from 11,849)
Non-resident deaths: 152 (unchanged)
Total deaths in state (FL/non-FL residents combined): 12,023 (up from 12,001)

  • 1,838 total new cases reported Monday

  • 0 new non-resident deaths reported Monday

TESTING NUMBERS

Total tested (residents): 4,788,781
Total tested (non-residents): 19,975
Total positive (residents): 640,978
Total positive (non-residents): 7,291
Total negative (residents): 4,140,756
Total negative (non-residents): 12,659
Percent positive (residents): 13.40%
Percent positive (non-residents): 36.55%

The remainder of the tests is still pending or inconclusive, according to the FDOH website.

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA NUMBERS

Total recorded cases in SWFL: 37,998 (up from 37,898)
Deaths: 804 (unchanged)

  • 100 total new cases reported Monday
  • 0 new deaths reported Monday

Lee County: 19,176 (up from 19,134) – 438 deaths
Collier County: 12,024 (up from 11,994) – 184 deaths
Charlotte County:  2,811 (up from 2,793) – 117 deaths
DeSoto County: 1,524 (up from 1,523) – 22 deaths
Glades County: 463 (up from 460) – 4 deaths
Hendry County: 2,000 (up from 1,994) – 39 deaths
