On Sunday afternoon, Florida State Senator Kathleen Passidomo, R-Naples for District 28, announced via Twitter that she has tested positive for COVID-19.
Passidomo said that she got tested on Thursday, January 7 and just received her positive result on Sunday. She was trying to get tested prior to returning to Tallahassee for Senate committee meetings.
In accordance with Florida Senate protocols, Passidomo will not be allowed to attend in-person meetings beginning on Monday, January 11. Instead, she will attend meetings virtually.
Senator Passidomo represents Florida’s 28th District, which includes Collier, Hendry and part of Lee County in Southwest Florida.
In anticipation of the upcoming committee hearings & other meetings in Tallahassee this week, I took a Covid-19 test on Thursday 1/7. I learned this morning that the result of the test is positive. (1/3) pic.twitter.com/jqbn91yYqN
