Woman dies days after crash in Cape Coral

A woman died days after she suffered life-threatening injuries in a Cape Coral crash.

Katelyhn Ashlee Ower, 28, was driving a 2020 gray Hyundai Elantra northbound on Del Prado Boulevard North in the 3200 block when she struck a curb and drove onto the sidewalk and grass along the outside shoulder of the roadway, according to Cape Coral police.

Her vehicle then struck a tree.

Police say alcohol/drugs are a factor in the Jan. 16 crash.

Ower was taken to a local hospital with severe injuries and died Jan. 20. A passenger, Otis Ower, suffered minor injuries and was also taken to a hospital.
