Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers still has not found the people responsible for beating up a driver Jan. 9 in North Fort Myers.

The assault happened at the intersection of Pondella Road and Lamar Road in North Fort Myers.

Luckily, Crime Stoppers has already received dozens of tips. It says it isn’t a matter of if they’ll find them but when.

Each of the men shown in pictures below are suspects in a North Fort Myers road rage attack. Trish Routte, who works with Crime Stoppers, says the attack was brutal.

“It’s an absolutely brutal attack and unprovoked,” Routte said. “I mean, the motorcycle drivers that were involved in this, they were the aggressors.”

The suspects on the motorcycles all traveled together and wore the same club shirt. They were weaving in and out of traffic, cutting drivers off.

One man saw what the group was doing and shouted at them.

“Words were exchanged, and at that point, all the bikers just surrounded his vehicle, and they immediately knocked off the side rearview mirror,” Routte said. “At that point, the victim used the wrench that he had in his car for his own protection. I mean, you got seven or eight people swarming on you.”

Routte also says they used that same wrench to beat the victim. The suspects also used their helmets to beat him up and kicked him.

“They quickly disarmed him of that wrench, and they used that against him, bashing him over the skull,” Rputte said. “I mean, it was a horrific thing to see.”

The pictures came from the victim’s dashcam video that recorded the entire incident.

“You cut them off in traffic. You were causing mayhem on the roads, and you’re going to exert that kind of violence? Unprovoked? That just tells you a little bit about these individuals,” Routte said.

The victim had his skull fractured and now has 15-20 staples in his head.

Witnesses were able to stop the attack before it got any worse.

If you have any information on the identities of these suspects, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com.
