Luis Rodriguez Aldama. Credit: Lee County Sheriff’s Office The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a suspect in an east Fort Myers fatal shooting that took place last week. On March 15, deputies responded to reports of a shooting at Ortiz Circle. They located a victim inside of a bedroom with several gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased. This incident was determined to be a homicide, and Major Crimes Unit detectives took over the investigation. While on scene, deputies also discovered and detained an armed man later identified as Luis Rodriguez Aldama, 46. Detectives collected evidence and witness statements, later obtaining probable cause to arrest Aldama. Aldama now faces charges of second-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
