Man struck by vehicle in Clewiston; driver sought

Authorities are looking for a driver who struck a pedestrian Saturday night in Clewiston.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a 51-year-old man was walking east on Virginia Avenue, east of 11th Street, when he was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle at about 10:45 p.m.

The driver left the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Troopers said the suspect vehicle, a pickup or SUV, may be gray, silver or gold in color.
