77th Annual Dunbar Easter Parade to close some roads Sunday

The 77th Annual Dunbar Easter Parade is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Easter Sunday and will cause some road closures starting around 2:15.

The parade will begins at Ford Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. It will travel down MLK Jr. Blvd. to Palm Avenue, where it will head south to Edison Avenue and end at the STARS Complex, where a free Easter celebration will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. The celebration includes vendors, food, live entertainment, pre-bagged candy for the kids and more.

The following roads/intersections will be closed between 2:15 p.m. and the parade’s end:

• Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from Ford Street to Evans Avenue

• Cranford Avenue from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Edison Avenue

• Edison Avenue from Evans Avenue to Ford Street

• Ford Street from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Edison Avenue

Those who wish to attend the parade are encouraged to arrive prior to 2:30 p.m. and find legal parking that does not disrupt the parade route, the FMPD said.
