Saturday, two unknown suspects are accused of attacking a Door Dash delivery driver. The driver says two crooks followed him for miles from Fort Myers to Lehigh Acres before one of them punched him. But he says they didn’t get away with anything.

Investigators says the attack happened over the weekend just after 7 p.m. at the busy intersection with State 82 and Gunnery Road in Lehigh.

The driver told Lee County deputies he noticed a Toyota Camry following him while he was on his way to deliver food.

When he got into the turn lane, the driver says an unknown suspect driving the car that was following him got out and started punching him in the face.

The driver says he grabbed the attacker’s shirt, and that’s when he says a woman got out of the suspect vehicle and dumped a bottle of water on him.

The pair of accused crooks took off and left the delivery driver with cuts on his face and nose.

A Door Dash spokeswoman said they take safety very seriously, and said they are trying to get in touch with the driver and help law enforcement with the investigation in any way they can.
