North Fort Myers woman arrested in road rage incident

A North Fort Myers woman was arrested late Monday after pulling a handgun on another driver.

Lexxus Luene Beach Turpin, 21, is facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of criminal mischief.

Lee County deputies responded Monday to the RaceTrac on North Cleveland Avenue after a woman said Turpin threatened her with a handgun when she didn’t allow her to merge into a traffic lane.

The arrest report states Turpin cursed at the victim and displayed a handgun as their vehicles drove along North Cleveland. The victim followed Turpin in an effort to get a photo of her license plate. They ended up in a parking lot on Stillwater Court and Turpin slammed on her brakes, got out and approached the victim’s car, began kicking the door and pointing a handgun at them. The victim, who had her 6-year-old brother and a friend in her car, left the scene after successfully getting a photo of Turpin’s license plate. The victim’s friend recorded much of the incident, the report states.

Turpin was later found at an apartment on Stillwater Court and arrested early Tuesday. She was released from Lee County Jail Tuesday evening. Her arraignment is scheduled for July 26.
