A family is desperate for answers about their loved one in Southwest Florida. She disappeared 15 months ago. Her story is now getting national attention.

Lauren Dumolo disappeared in Cape Coral more than a year ago. Her picture will be on the front cover of People magazine among images of other missing moms.

Her father, Paul Dumolo, told us they just want anyone to come forward with information and hope this publicity helps generate tips.

“This is a horrible thing. This is probably one of the worst things is the not knowing,” Paul said.

One of the last times anyone saw Lauren was at a Marathon gas station filling out a job application.

Her father, Paul, just wants answers.

“Think about if this was one of your children and they were … if this was going on with you. Put yourself in someone else’s shoes,” Paul said.

Now, Lauren’s face will be on the front of a high-profile magazine with other missing women.

“It breaks my heart that my daughter is on the front page for that reason,” Dumolo said. “I’d rather see her up there for something like Olympic gold medal.”

Lauren’s dad holds out hope, knowing the detective on the case is giving it everything he’s got.

“He has kids and daughters of his own,” Paul said. “He’s taking this personally. I can’t thank him enough.”

There have been no arrests in Lauren’s disappearance. The People magazine edition hits newsstands Friday.

Cape Coral Police Department told us there are no updates they can release at this time.
