Charles Williams, 34, of Lehigh Acres, was sentenced on Wednesday for a carjacking that took place in Fort Myers in November 2019

A judge sentenced Williams to 20 years in prison for carjacking, 15 years for aggravated battery and five years for grand theft. Williams will serve all three sentences concurrently.

According to the sentencing document a man was fishing with a friend and had his car parked nearby. When they noticed Williams get into the vehicle, the owner confronted him and a fight began.

Williams was able to drive away. He was later arrested and identified by the owner of the vehicle through a lineup.

Williams chose to forego his right to a trial and chose direct sentencing from the judge.
