A teenager in Estero hopes trick-or-treating kids will stop by his Halloween house. He’s using his love of the holiday to help kids fighting cancer, and it all starts with his spooky decorations.

Nick Lauandos is a participant for Skeletons for St. Jude. “I just wanted to have fun, give, give kids you know, an adult, something to look at and have fun with on Halloween. And especially, you know, I want to help, you know, towards st. Jude,” he said.

A billboard in Nick’s yard will have a QR code, that when you scan it, makes it easy for you to donate.

Nick is one of hundreds taking part in Skeletons for St. Jude.

Jennifer Corcoran is the co-organizer for the initiative, and she said, “The money all goes directly to St. Jude. So there’s just, it’s really like just putting a sign in your yard and passing the word and your neighborhood about what you’re doing.”

Corcoran said after her cousin passed away from cancer, she decided she wanted to raise money for children fighting the same battle.

“I don’t want to cry. But it’s just it’s, it’s just amazing,” she explained. “And it’s just such a such a great cause I know, my I know, my cousin would be just over the moon about it.”

Nick said it also makes you feel good yourself, “It feels nice to be able to know that I’m doing something, you know, for somebody else.”
