Lee Health collecting your extra Halloween candy for troops overseas

The Lee Health Military Support Program wants your leftover or unwanted Halloween candy. They will be collecting it and boxing it up for troops overseas.

So far they say they have collected about 100 pounds of candy.

Your extra candy can be dropped off at a number of different locations:

  • Cape Coral Hospital – 636 Del Prado Blvd. S., Cape Coral
  • Gulf Coast Medical Center – 13681 Doctors Way, Fort Myers
  • Healthpark Commons Outpatient Center – 16821 Bass Road, Fort Myers
  • Lee Memorial Hospital – 2776 Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers
  • Sanctuary Outpatient Building – 8970 Colonial Center Drive, Fort Myers
  • Santa Barbra Campus – Central Business Office, Shirley Guinn, 424-1507
  • Corporate Office – 4211 Metro Parkway, Fort Myers

The Lee Health Military Support Program says it has sent 96,000 pounds of care packages to troops overseas since May 2003.

The support program says there are currently 40-60 active duty service members from Southwest Florida. They say more than 1,800 local troops have been supported by the program.
