North Fort Myers man arrested after drug trafficking investigation

A North Fort Myers man was arrested on Tuesday after a monthlong drug trafficking investigation.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office narcotics unit arrested Richard Metes, 36, after detectives pulled him over and found fentanyl and methamphetamine in his possession. A search of his home in the 4500 Block of Tennyson Drive ended in the seizure of 17.4 grams of fentanyl, 27.4 grams of methamphetamine and $12,828.

Metes faces two counts of drug possession, one count of trafficking in fentanyl and one count of trafficking in methamphetamine. He is in custody at the Lee County Jail.
