Lee Health hospitals continue to remain busy with some patients experiencing longer than usual wait times at the emergency departments.

Patients are treated in order of severity of their illness and those with life-threatening conditions such as a heart attack or stroke are always treated immediately, Lee Health said.

Here are Thursday’s COVID-19 hospitalizations.

  • As of Thursday morning, there are 170 COVID-19 patients isolated in Lee Health hospitals.
  • Of those patients, five of them are being treated at Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida.
  • On Thursday morning, the hospital census was at 95% of staffed operational bed capacity.
  • On Thursday morning, the census in the intensive care unit was at 95% of staffed operational bed capacity. There were 22 COVID-19 patients in the ICU.
  • On Wednesday, Lee Health emergency departments saw 787 patients, which is typical for this time of year.
  • Lee TeleHealth is currently free and is an easy alternative to avoid longer than normal wait times at urgent care centers. To access Lee Telehealth, download the Lee Health app or visit www.LeeTelehealth.org.
