Lee County Parks & Recreation Summer Camp registration opens at 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28. Registration is expected to draw thousands of youngsters to programs, outings and activities at the department’s traditional camps, middle school camps and specialty camps.

Parents are encouraged to sign up early. Each year, the allotted spaces at Wa-Ke Hatchee, Lakes Park and Estero Recreation Center fill up well before school ends. Camp registration is ongoing as long as space is available.

Registration for swimming lessons and other aquatics programs begins Tuesday, March 1. Summer camp runs for seven weeks from June 13 through July 29.

Helpful tips from the registration desk:

  • To register for camp at one of the four large recreation centers – Wa-Ke Hatchee, Estero, North Fort Myers or Veterans Park in Lehigh Acres – obtain a membership first.
  • A household account at www.webtrac.leegov.com is needed to register online.

Campsites will participate in countywide initiatives, such as service-learning projects, fitness and wellness programs and National Park and Recreation Month.
