On Wednesday, two men were shot in the leg by two shooters outside the Renaissance Preserve Apartment Complex in Fort Myers.

Fort Myers police say the two shooters are on the run. They have not released any information on who the shooters may be.

Police say two men were walking back to one of their family member’s homes in the Renaissance Preserve Apartment complex.

Police say both men were shot in their legs, and both are expected to survive the shooting.

It’s not clear if either of the victims knew the shooters. Police say they have not interviewed the victims because both were transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center.

Neighbors say they won’t feel peace of mind until they know both shooters have been caught.

“It was shocking because I felt like it’s an invasion of our space to have this stuff happen. And it endangers everybody. I mean, even if it is isolated, you never know what could happen. A flying bullet could hit somebody,” said Jeremy Balch.

Police say the shooting was an isolated incident, and there is no threat to this community.

Fort Myers police also say there is no evidence to suggest that the shooting resulted from an attempted robbery.
