After fleeing from Lee County Sheriff’s deputies, a man has been arrested for a burglary at a Fort Myers home.

The sheriff’s office says on Feb 25, Christopher Ferrell, 40, broke into a home on Drake Drive in Fort Myers. The homeowner told deputies that Ferrell had stolen 13 firearms and valuable paintings.

Deputies quickly spread out in the area to try and find Ferrell, who they say fled the scene on a bike.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says they were able to locate Ferrell using their Dragonfish Drone. The sheriff’s office released a video from the drone showing Ferrell hiding from deputies in the woods behind St. Columbkille Catholic Church.

Ferrell was arrested after the drone found his hiding spot. He is facing charges of burglary, grand theft of a firearm, and larceny.
