A man connected to a 2020 homicide in Englewood East has pleaded guilty to third-degree murder charges and now faces 20 years in prison.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, 33-year-old Bradley Scheuerer had a Friday plea hearing for his involvement in a homicide that began as a targeted home invasion burglary on Turner Street. Evidence gathered by the State Attorney’s Office and CCSO led Scheuerer to plead guilty to two counts of third-degree murder. As a result, CCSO says Bradley Scheuerer will be incarcerated for twenty years.

CCSO says the incident began when Scheuerer and now-deceased Jonathon Robinson, 27, entered a victim’s home to steal equipment used to manufacture marijuana wax (also known as DAB or BHO, butane hash oil), a highly concentrated form of THC. Scheuerer was a known acquaintance of the victim, with whom he’d recently had a falling out over the sale of the substance, and was recently described as acting erratic.

Scheuerer escaped from the scene after a fight between a male resident of the home and Robinson, which ultimately killed both men.
