A teacher who goes above and beyond for her students was rewarded with a special gift.

Brooke Przespolewski, who teaches at Gulf Elementary in Cape Coral, has a new puppy.

Her students surprised her with a pug puppy on Friday. Now she has three of the beloved doggos.

Allie Kaminsky’s daughter is one of Mrs. Przespolewski’s students.

“I was driving down Surfside to Publix, and I saw a playpen on the driveway and it said pugs for sale,” Kaminsky said.

She shared it with Przespolewski, who kept going back and forth about getting another dog.

“I was like, what if we did this for Teacher Appreciation Week? Just kind of talking out loud,” Kaminsky said.

Several families from Gulf Elementary class came together to do something memorable.

“We have two pugs already and my wife did a theme in her class and shares a pug theme. So, the parents got all together, wanted to get her a pug,” Przespolewski said.

Kaminsky said: “She goes over and beyond for every child in that classroom.”

Kaminsky picked up the pop and kept it a secret all along.

Students call Przespolewski “the bestest teacher.”

Students filled the hallways and just moments later came the surprise.

“I am shocked. Overwhelmed,” Przespolewski said.

Przespolewski said a card would have been enough so she is extremely thankful.

“This class has gone above and beyond for teacher appreciation that I can’t even describe how it makes a teacher feel. It’s amazing,” she said.

Some of the families who chipped in attended the surprise. The class voted to name the puppy Ivy.
