Florida Highway Patrol vehicle. Credit: Florida Highway Patrol Florida Highway Patrol responded to a fatal single dirt bike crash in Lehigh Acres that left the rider dead on Sunday. Troopers say the victim was a 23-year-old male from Naples who was not wearing a helmet. According to FHP, the accident occurred near 46 St. southwest and Sunshine Blvd. FHP says the driver was traveling south along the dirt shoulder of Sunshine Blvd., north of 46 St. SW, approaching a canal. The bike crossed the canal edge and became airborne, crashing on the opposite side of the canal. The driver was transported to Lehigh Regional Hospital and later pronounced dead, according to FHP.
