A 17-year-old from Lehigh Acres has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the 2020 shooting death of an 18-year-old.

Alize Fonseca pleaded guilty to charges of second-degree murder with a firearm and conspiracy to commit robbery on Thursday. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison, followed by 10 years of probation.

According to the State Attorney’s Office, Fonseca and two others, Austin Moore and Christian Couto, made a plan to draw 18-year-old CJ Wallace into a remote area of Lehigh Acres so they could rob him. On Aug. 14, 2020, Wallace met the three defendants in a vehicle with several people inside.

The State Attorney’s Office says that is when Fonseca, wearing a mask and carrying a semi-automatic firearm, came out of the darkness and demanded money from Wallace before shooting and killing him.

Wallace was the only person hit by the gunfire. Fonseca and the two other defendants then fled from the scene.

Both Moore and Couto have pled guilty to their involvement in the crime and are set to be sentenced on May 17.
