Closures ahead of Potential Tropical System One

Tropical System 1 isn’t just taking away sunshine and clear skies in Southwest Florida. Here is a list of events that have now been canceled due to the ongoing storm.

While Tropical System 1 continues to downpour, Southwest Florida is seeing cancelations on Friday.

Here’s a developing list of the cancelations:

Lee County

  • Art Walk – Friday, June 3, 2022
  • Harry Chapin Food Bank Drive-thru Food Distribution – Saturday, June 4, 2022
  • Friday’s game between the Mighty Mussels and Tampa Tarpons has been postponed. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Sunday, June 5 that will begin at 12 p.m. Both games will be seven innings. Gates will open at 11 a.m. Friday’s School’s Out celebration at the game has also been postponed to Sunday
  • Cape Coral Farmer’s Market will be closed on Saturday
  • Southern Fresh Farms closed on Friday and will remain closed on Saturday
  • The Lee County School District has canceled SAT testing that was supposed to take place in its schools. It is rescheduled for June 18. Facilities rentals have also been canceled.

Collier County

  • Naples Zoo will be closed Friday and Saturday
  • All Collier County school and district sites will be closed on Saturday
  • The SAT scheduled for Saturday has also been canceled. The College Board will be email students to make up the test on June 18

Charlotte County

  • Dance with Daddy, scheduled from 6-8 p.m. at the Port Charlotte Beach Recreation Center on Saturday, has been postponed. The program will be moved to Aug. 6.
