Pedestrian killed in San Carlos Park crash on US-41 Wednesday night

A pedestrian was killed in a crash on US-41 in San Carlos Park on Wednesday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a car driven by a 26-year-old Lehigh Acres man was traveling north in the left lane of US-41 near San Carlos Boulevard around 9:30 p.m. A 48-year-old male pedestrian from Colorado Springs, Colorado, was walking on the left lane of US-41 when he was struck by the front of the car.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
