A Tuesday night fire destroyed an RV and an SUV, almost ruining a nearby home on Cypress Drive in Pine Manor.

According to the South Trail Fire Department, the Iona McGregor Fire District and the Fort Myers Fire Department helped respond to a home where an RV and SUV were engulfed in flames, putting the house in danger. A neighbor says the fire happened around 9:30 p.m.

Fire crews were able to extinguish both vehicles quickly and save the home. The house sustained heat and some flame damage, but only to its exterior.

“I don’t know how to explain it, because I ain’t never seen anything like this, so, it’s like… nah, you ain’t never going to see this again,” said Brandon Ortiz, a neighbor who caught video of the burning RV. “I would describe this as like, you go into something dark and then you see just a skeleton. That’s what it looks like, it’s huge. I came to the stop sign and I seen it and I was like, whoa! Because this ain’t something you see every day. Yeah, you just gotta see it.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the STFD fire marshal.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
