(CREDIT: Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office) Two suspects accused of multiple drug charges involving methamphetamine, fentanyl, oxycodone, and more were arrested in Charlotte County on Tuesday. According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, deputies searched 18012 Ohara Drive in Port Charlotte Tuesday morning after getting a warrant from a local judge. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit worked with the Charlotte and Collier County SWAT teams to execute the search warrant. During the search, deputies said they found the following drugs throughout the home: approximately six pounds of Methamphetamine, 58.4 grams of fentanyl, 53.2 grams of Oxycodone, 27.41 pounds of synthetic cannabinoids, tramadol, suboxone, and large amounts of used drug paraphernalia. Also, deputies found 447 suspected fentanyl pressed pills. What was found after the search of Knight’s residence. (CREDIT: CHARLOTTE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE) John Alton Knight, Jr., 56, was told to put his hands up by deputies when they approached his home. Ignoring the command, John proceeded to run into his home. John was found in the kitchen near the sink when law enforcement got into the home. When law enforcement found John in the kitchen, he was calling out to Rebecca Mary Knight, 39. Law enforcement proceeded to take John and Rebecca Knight into custody. After law enforcement searched the house, Rebecca faces trafficking and drug paraphernalia charges. John, on the other hand, faces multiple drug charges including, trafficking in amphetamine more than 200 grams, trafficking in fentanyl more than 28 grams less than 30 kilograms, trafficking in oxycodone more than 25 grams less than 100 grams, trafficking in synthetic cannabinoid more than 1000 grams but less than 30 kilograms, controlled substance possession (tramadol), controlled substance possession (suboxone), drug paraphernalia possession or use of, tampering with evidence, and resisting an officer without violence. John was also charged with fleeing to elude from Punta Gorda Police and possession of a firearm by a felon from a previous incident. John and Rebecca Knight are being held at the Charlotte County jail.
