Judge discusses attorneys motion to withdraw from case for man accused of killing FMPD officer

The attorneys for the man accused of killing a Fort Myers Police Officer motion to remove themselves from the case is being discussed.

Wisner Desmaret is accused of killing Fort Myers Police Officer Adam Jobbers-Miller in 2018.

Desmaret’s attorney is trying to get removed from the case just days before the trial begins.

On Wednesday Crawford filed a motion asking to withdraw as the accused killer’s attorney.

Desmaret accused his attorneys of doing drugs on the job.

The judge gave himself until Friday to decide on the motion.

On Tuesday Desmaret asked for a new lawyer after first calling Crawford a snake and accusing him of doing drugs and not doing his job well at all.

The judge asked Desmaret to see if he’s ever read anything legal-related.

Desmaret said, “I’ve watched court TV. God is my lawyer, if God is with me who can be against me.”

The judge asked Desmaret’s attorneys in multiple ways if there was any way to save the attorney-client relationship.

Every time the attorneys’ said no.

Desmaret’s trial is set to begin on September 6.
