People will do what they need to when someone they know, love, or appreciates passes away. That’s exactly what the owner of a pub in Bonita Springs is doing after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

Ann Nabbs is one of those who will take time to grieve over the death of the Queen. She owns the British Open Pub in Bonita Springs.

Friday afternoon, Nabbs gathered around other Brits as they watched the King’s address and told WINK News she was very pleased with what he said.

“It was heartfelt. You could feel he meant every word he said,” Nabbs said. “I think he coffered covered most of the subjects that needed to be addressed like Megan and Harry and his wife, I thought that was well done. And then when he says his mama and his papa, that’s when I really felt it, felt the sadness and the loss.”

“There will be a lot of pomp and circumstance going on, which the Brits can do very well,” Nabbs said. “So that’s what I expect, more and more of what she has done for the country for her people.”

Like so many others around the world, Nabbs will continue to watch as everything unfolds. From the Queen’s funeral to the coronation of King Charles III.
