According to the police department, the Parrot Outreach Society was burglarized and had 28 birds stolen from them. No other details are known at this time. The Parrot Outreach Society is a nonprofit organization that is concerned for parrot welfare in captivity and the conservation of wild parrots, according to its website. The nonprofit wrote on Facebook that their power was shut off at around 3 a.m. before someone entered to steal the birds. “We are absolutely devastated and are asking all our followers to be on the lookout for our babies. We ask all breeders to be on the lookout. These birds mean the world to all of our volunteers, and we are all heartbroken,” the nonprofit said.
