The Collier County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two people it says are responsible for a looting crime spree.

Alxis Tatiana Dibrigida, 28, of Centennial, Colorado, and Stephen Granieri, 47, of St. Petersburg, were arrested on Sunday. Deputies say they caught the two looting condos in Vanderbilt Beach.

According to the sheriff’s office, the two also left a young child in Granieri’s car as they were burglarizing the homes.

Detectives say the pair kicked in doors, ransacked multiple residences, and destroyed property before making off with clothing, shoes, alcohol, and other items. One victim reported an entire closet of clothing had been stolen. Detectives also say one unit where the owners had evacuated appeared to have been lived in for the night.

At around 12:40 p.m. Sunday, deputies say they responded to a report of a break-in at the Bellagio Grande. The caller said he heard the sound of glass shattering and loud noises coming from one of the units.

Deputies say when they arrived, they found two glass doors had been kicked in. They say the unit had been ransacked and estimated the damage to be between $10,000 and $20,000.

Granieri and Dibrigida were confronted by deputies in the garage of the unit they were looting. Granieri was arrested, but Dibrigida ran and was later found hiding in the bushes nearby.

Inside Granieri’s car, where a child had been left alone, deputies say they found stolen items, including fishing poles and bottles of alcohol, that were located next to the child.

The pair face charges of grand theft, burglary, and child neglect.

Deputies say the child inside of the vehicle was filthy, and the child was unkempt with bug bites and appeared hungry.

Deputies cleaned, fed, and placed a fresh diaper on the child. The Florida Department of Children and Families was contacted, and the child was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office said Granieri has also been charged with threatening the life of a Collier County Sheriff’s Office deputy after his arrest Sunday.

Due to Granieri’s behavior, a second unit followed the deputy to the jail. The deputy transporting Granieri said that Granieri told him he would find and kill the deputy when he was released. CCSO said Granieri continued to make threats, telling the deputy he would shoot him if he saw him on the street and would kill the next deputy he had contact with.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office says there is an ongoing investigation into the two people arrested.
