Hurricane Ian displaced a lot of animals, some were found safe, and others unfortunately not.

A search for a missing horse named Rogue from south Fort Myers has ended after he was found dead.

A community has come together for Rogue’s owner, Mallory Wheeler to help her through this troubling time.

Wheeler had Rogue for 12 years. Rogue was a 23-year-old thoroughbred chestnut horse.

He disappeared after being at the barn in south Fort Myers and Wheeler said she didn’t take Rogue with her because she wasn’t anticipating such a powerful storm in that area.

Many people donated their time, money, and resources to help search for Rogue.

“There are people coming out to help find Rogue who have lost everything their homes, their cars, and they are still coming out to help me search for him. So that says a lot. I just can’t thank people enough for doing that, it’s just amazing,” Wheeler said.
