Anthony Moret, 67. (CREDIT: Georgia Department of Corrections via WCTV) Troopers have found a convicted murderer who escaped from prison in Georgia. Anthony Moret, 67, was found walking on southbound I-75, at mile marker 158, in Charlotte County. A warrant check revealed he had an active warrant for escape while serving life in prison without the possibility of parole for murder. He remains in Charlotte County Jail waiting extradition back to Georgia. According to WCTV, Moret escaped from the Valdosta Transitional Center. Records show he is serving time for murder and armed robbery dating back to the 1970s, WCTV said. He also has two prior convictions on escape charges from 1976 and 1985.
