A Cape Coral man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for crimes against a child.

The State Attorney’s Office says Johan Alexander Munoz Fuentes, 19, of Cape Coral, was sentenced on Monday after being found guilty of lewd or lascivious battery, transmission of material harmful to a minor, and lewd or lascivious molestation.

Following his 10 years in prison, Fuentes was sentenced to 10 years of sex offender probation and is now a designated sex offender.

According to the State Attorney’s Office, Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies began investigating a sex crime in September 2021 after a mother found a concerning text on her daughter’s phone. Deputies responded as the victim and Fuentes responded with nude photos.

Deputies determined that the crime took place in Cape Coral, and the investigation was handed to the Cape Coral Police Department, which arrested Fuentes.
